  • Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing your placenta after birth, dehydrating it, grinding it into a fine powder, and placing it into capsules for postpartum use.

  • Fill out our “Contact Form” to get started. From there we will send you some more info. Then you just contact us when you deliver.

  • After your baby is born, your placenta should be stored on ice or refrigerated. We will coordinate pickup, typically within 48 hours of delivery. Using the Traditional Chinese Method, the placenta is gently steamed, dehydrated, encapsulated, and returned to you along with any keepsakes or add-ons included in your package.

  • The number of capsules varies depending on the size of your placenta, but most clients receive between 75 and 200 capsules.

  • Your placenta should be placed in a clean, sealed container and kept cold on ice or refrigerated until pickup. Detailed storage instructions will be provided prior to your due date.

  • We strive to pick up your placenta within 48 hours of delivery and return your completed capsules within 48 hours of pickup.

  • A placenta tincture is created by preserving a small portion of your placenta in alcohol. Many families choose to save their tincture for future hormonal transitions, including weaning, returning to work, PMS, or menopause.

  • Placenta salves are topical balms made using a small portion of your placenta. They are often used as part of a postpartum self-care routine.

  • The umbilical cord is carefully dried and shaped into a decorative keepsake, often in the form of a heart, as a meaningful reminder of your birth journey.

  • A placenta print is a unique keepsake created using the natural shape of your placenta. Many families describe these prints as resembling a "tree of life."

  • We follow strict sanitation and handling procedures and prepare only one placenta at a time using dedicated equipment. As with any postpartum decision, we encourage you to discuss placenta encapsulation with your healthcare provider if you have questions or concerns.

  • Absolutely. We proudly serve all families, including LGBTQ+ families, single parents, adoptive families, surrogates, and anyone seeking postpartum support.

  • Travel within 45 minutes of downtown Denver is included with all packages. A small travel fee may apply for locations beyond that radius.

  • We recommend reserving your spot during pregnancy, ideally during your second or third trimester. Because we take a limited number of clients each month, booking early is encouraged.

  • We generally recommend taking 2-3 capsules, 2-3 times per day during the first few weeks postpartum. Because every person and every recovery is different, we encourage you to listen to your body and adjust as needed. Detailed instructions will be included with your capsules.

  • When stored in a cool, dry place, placenta capsules can typically be used for up to one year. For longer-term storage, many clients choose to freeze a portion of their capsules, which can help preserve them for several years.

  • Every body responds differently. While many clients report positive experiences, some individuals may find that placenta capsules are not the right fit for them. If you experience headaches, increased anxiety, digestive discomfort, or any other symptoms that concern you, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider. You can always restart at a lower dose later if desired.

  • Policies vary by hospital, provider, and medical circumstance. We recommend discussing your plans with your healthcare provider before delivery and including your wishes in your birth plan whenever possible.

    In some situations, such as certain infections, medications, or pathology requirements, the placenta may need to be retained by the hospital for medical evaluation and may not be available for encapsulation. If you're unsure, we're happy to discuss your specific situation before your due date.

  • Absolutely. Many families choose to use some capsules during the immediate postpartum period and save the remainder for times of transition such as returning to work, weaning, future hormonal shifts, or other periods when additional support may be desired. Frozen capsules tend to maintain their quality the longest.
